Dott. Marco Cipolli

Since 1985 Dr. Marco Cipolli has been working in pediatrics, initially focusing on infectious diseases. In 1988 he began working with cystic fibrosis patients paying specific attention to respiratory diseases. From 1991, he studied gastroenterology, in particular liver and pancreatic issues of both cystic fibrosis and non-cystic fibrosis patients. In the same year he began taking care of patients who had Shwachman-Diamond syndrome studying phenotypical and epidemiological issues. Also, since 1995, Dr. Cipolli has been coordinating the Italian Registry of SDS patients. In 2014, he became the Head of the first Regional Center of Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (Verona, Italy), in charge of almost 40 patients with SDS. From 2008 to 2016 he directed the Clinical Research Center at the Cystic Fibrosis Center in Verona, Italy, coordinating almost 20 clinical studies in cystic fibrosis. In 2016, Dr. Cipolli led the Cystic Fibrosis Center in Ancona, Italy, with over 30 patients who had SDS from across the Italian central regions. Since September 2019, he has been heading the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Verona, which is one of the largest CF centers in Europe.
