
Prof. Marcus Mall
Marcus Mall is Full Professor and Director of the Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine, Immunology and Intensive Care Medicine and CF Center at the Charité – University Medical Center Berlin, Germany, and Professor at the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH).
He graduated from the University of Freiburg Medical School and trained at the Universities of Freiburg and Heidelberg, Germany, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Marcus Mall is board-certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, allergology and infectious diseases. He is a Fellow of ERS (FERS), serves on the editorial board of the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) and Program Planning Committee of the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC), and coordinates the CF research programme of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL).
Marcus Mall’s research focuses on the pathogenesis and development of novel diagnostic approaches and therapeutic strategies for CF lung disease. His research team uses an interdisciplinary translational research strategy, integrating basic research in model systems with cohort studies and early phase clinical trials, to improve our understanding of CF lung disease and the translation of research results and novel therapies into the clinic.
